Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale's agent denies "ridiculous" loan reports

Gareth Bale will not leave Real Madrid on a loan deal during the January transfer window, according to agent Jonathan Barnett.

The agent of Gareth Bale has dismissed suggestions that the forward could leave Real Madrid on loan this month.

Despite widespread speculation regarding his future for over a year, Bale and his representatives have maintained that the Wales international is happy at the Bernabeu.

However, it was claimed earlier this week that a loan exit could be in the offing, with former club Tottenham Hotspur said to be interested.

Jonathan Barnett has moved to end any idea of a temporary move, however, by insisting that the 30-year-old plans to stay at Los Blancos until 2022.

Barnett is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "Why would one of the best players on Earth go on loan? That's ridiculous.

"At the moment, he is going to be playing football for Real Madrid and he has got two-and-a-half years left on his contract. He is happy and hopefully he will win a couple of more things with Real Madrid."

Bale has made 10 starts and four substitute outings in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
