Newcastle United reportedly plan a January move for Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, despite his £12m-per-year wage with the Italian giants.

Newcastle United have reportedly reignited their interest in Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, despite his hefty contract with the Italian outfit.

The Turin giants brought Ramsey to the club in 2019, but they are now said to be willing to let him leave on a free transfer, with the Welshman's wage demands being the only stumbling block for interested parties.

According to Sport Witness, the Magpies, now under the ownership of the wealthy Saudi Public Investment Fund, are set to spend big to meet the former Arsenal man's demands and bring him to St. James' Park in the January transfer window.

Since the takeover at the beginning of October, Newcastle have been linked with a long list of potential signings, with Ramsey now expected to become one of the first signings of the new era in the north east.

The 30-year-old has made 70 appearances since arriving in Italy, adding a Serie A and a Coppa Italia to his trophy cabinet, after previously making 371 appearances for the Gunners in an 11-year spell, in which he contributed 65 goals and 65 assists.
