Manchester United 'to make imminent Bruno Fernandes bid'

Manchester United will make a bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes 'in the coming hours', according to a report.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes 'in the coming hours'.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with a move for the Portugal international in recent weeks, although it is understood that the club are yet to submit an official offer.

According to A Bola, though, the attacker's agent Miguel Pinho has flown to England for talks with United, who will make a bid for the 24-year-old before the end of Thursday.

Fernandes enjoyed an impressive 2018-19 campaign for Sporting, scoring 32 times and registering 18 assists in 53 appearances in all competitions.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur have also been credited with a summer interest in the Portuguese, who could collect in the region of £100,000 a week if he moves to Old Trafford.

United had been in Australia for their two pre-season matches against Perth Glory and Leeds United. The Red Devils, though, are now flying to Singapore for their third friendly against Italian giants Inter Milan on Saturday.
