Alexis Sanchez 'on verge of Manchester United exit'

Alexis Sanchez will complete a loan move from Manchester United to Inter Milan in the coming week, according to a report.

Alexis Sanchez is reportedly on the verge of leaving Manchester United for Inter Milan after the Italian giants agreed to pay half of the attacker's substantial wages.

Sanchez is free to leave Old Trafford before the European transfer window closes on September 2, and Inter have been strongly linked with a loan move for the Chile international.

According to The Mirror, the 30-year-old will leave the Red Devils in the coming week, although the English giants will still have to cough up £13m in wages before the end of the 2019-20 campaign.

Inter are said to be taking on half of Sanchez's £500,000-a-week wages as part of the agreement, while the other half will be paid by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side for the rest of the season.

The report adds that there is likely to be a £20m future purchase option in the deal, which United will demand is activated next summer regardless of how Sanchez performs at San Siro this term.

The South American has only scored five times in 45 appearances for the 20-time English champions since arriving from Arsenal at the mid-point of the 2017-18 campaign.
