Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly.

The 25-year-old will officially become a free agent when his Bournemouth contract expires on June 30, with the Cherries confirming his exit following the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.

Newcastle have stepped up their pursuit of Kelly after losing out in the race to sign Tosin Adarabioyo, who has agreed to join Chelsea on a free transfer when his Fulham contract expires.

The Magpies have faced competition from clubs abroad in the race for Kelly, with Serie A duo Juventus and AC Milan both being credited with an interest.

Man City 'earmark Serie A goalkeeper' as Ederson successor

Manchester City have apparently earmarked a leading Serie A goalkeeper as an ideal signing should Ederson depart the club in the near future.

The Citizens' goalkeeping situation has been a hot-button topic for the past couple of weeks, as first-choice stopper Ederson could supposedly depart if an appropriate bid comes in.

Saudi Pro League clubs are reportedly showing an interest in the 30-year-old, who is only under contract at the Etihad for another two seasons and may be available for around £40m.

City have supposedly told Ederson that he will have to put in a transfer request if he wants out this summer, but the situation took a twist last week when second-choice Stefan Ortega extended his terms until 2026.

Benjamin Sesko 'makes huge contract decision' amid Arsenal, Chelsea interest

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has reportedly come to a final decision on his immediate future amid talk of a possible switch to the Premier League.

The 21-year-old is believed to have attracted glances from all of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United on account of his terrific end to the 2023-24 Bundesliga campaign.

Sesko scored in each of Leipzig's last seven matches of the top-flight campaign, and after scoring five goals for Slovenia in Euro 2024 qualifying, he will lead the line for his nation at this summer's Championships.

The former Red Bull Salzburg starlet is already under contract at Leipzig for another four seasons, but his current terms reportedly include a release clause of around £55m, which all three Premier League teams would happily trigger.

Nottingham Forest 'make decision' over summer transfer strategy

Nottingham Forest are reportedly looking to strengthen in four areas of the pitch during the summer transfer window.

The East Midlands outfit have just narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League, their task not helped by a points deduction for breaching the division's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Nevertheless, securing a third successive campaign in the top flight has brought some breathing space for club officials, who would have had to consider numerous sales had they been relegated to the Championship.

Although Forest may still have to cash in on one of their star men, they have freed up some space on their wage bill by releasing 18 players.

Transfer rumours: Liam Delap future, Szczesny to Al-Nassr, Worrall to Sheffield United

Manchester City have reportedly decided to do away with young striker Liam Delap in the summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old is back at the Etihad following a productive loan spell with Hull City, whom he registered eight goals and two assists for in 31 Championship matches in 2023-24.

Delap missed a few months of action with a serious knee injury, though, and his efforts were ultimately not enough to help the Tigers secure a top-six finish.

The England Under-21 international is contracted to the Premier League champions until 2026, but according to The Sun, City are prepared to sell him to a Premier League rival this summer.

Chelsea 'worried' about future of in-demand 24-year-old

Chelsea allegedly have concerns over how the transfer saga involving Conor Gallagher could play out during the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has just starred for the Blues during 2023-24, starting all but one of their 38 Premier League games as sixth place was eventually secured in the table.

Gallagher was also captain for the majority of those fixtures, yet speculation has persisted that his progress at his boyhood club could be cut short by the club's co-owners.

Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have made little attempt to extend Gallagher's contract past 2025, instead preferring to cash in on his signature to boost the club's position with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Forson 'agrees' to join Serie A club after Man United exit

Manchester United's Omari Forson on February 24, 2024
    © Reuters

Omari Forson has reportedly made the decision to move to Serie A after his exit from Manchester United.

In 2023-24, head coach Erik ten Hag promoted the midfielder to the senior ranks in the hope of the 19-year-old establishing himself at first-team level.

However, the Dutchman failed to provide the prospect with the subsequent game time that would convince him to sign a long-term contract at Old Trafford.

Forson would make just one start and six substitute outings in all competitions, providing a crucial assist in a 4-3 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers but featuring for just 11 minutes from March onwards.
