A report claims that Paul Pogba has told Jose Mourinho to stop making him a scapegoat for Manchester United's poor start to the season.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly told manager Jose Mourinho to stop blaming him for Manchester United's problems.

The pair have had a number of dressing-room exchanges this season, most recently in the aftermath of Saturday's disappointing draw with Southampton.

Mourinho allegedly accused the World Cup winner of lacking respect and labelled him "a virus" who infects the players around him.

According to The Sun, Pogba laughed off the remarks at St Mary's Stadium and made clear that he should not be made a scapegoat for a terrible start to the season.

United recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Southampton, but they are still eight points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal, who they face on Wednesday night.

Pogba has started 13 of the Red Devils' 14 Premier League games this term and is expected to feature against the Gunners.
