Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva reportedly wants to leave the club this summer due to his issues with the English weather.

The 29-year-old has been an integral cog in Pep Guardiola's machine since joining the Citizens from Monaco in the summer of 2017.

Across all competitions, Bernardo has scored 64 goals and registered 63 assists in 345 appearances for Man City while playing in several different positions in midfield and attack.

The Portugal international has won 15 trophies during his time at the Etihad Stadium and was part of the squad that celebrated winning a historic treble last season.

Bernardo has chipped in with nine goals and five assists in 39 games so far this term, with Guardiola's men bidding to win an unprecedented double-treble and retain each of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

Bernardo Silva keen to seek pasture new

Bernardo committed his future to Man City when he put pen to paper on a new three-year deal in August last year that runs until the summer of 2026.

However, it has been public knowledge since January last year that Bernardo is keen to pursue a "new project" after nearly seven full seasons at the Etihad.

According to Football Insider, the playmaker is eager for a "better style of living" away from Manchester now he has entered the prime years of his career.

A separate report from journalist Fabrizio Romano states that Bernardo is currently focused fully on representing Man City during a crucial stage in the season, but his £50m release clause will become active this summer.

Who could Bernardo Silva join this summer?

Bernardo recently reiterated his desire to complete "a career and life goal" by returning to boyhood club Benfica before he decides to retire.

The Lisbon-born playmaker began his career with Benfica but made only three senior appearances before moving to Monaco in 2015.

Bernardo has also been strongly linked with Barcelona and Portuguese compatriot Joao Felix has called for the Catalan giants to sign the Man City man this summer.

A potential return to France to link up with Paris Saint-Germain has also been mooted for Bernardo, while clubs in Saudi Arabia, including Al-Hilal, are said to be long-term admirers of City's No.20.
