Pep Guardiola is named 2022-23 Premier League Manager of the Season after guiding Manchester City to a third successive title.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been named 2022-23 Premier League Manager of the Season.

The 52-year-old has successfully led the Citizens to a third successive Premier League title this term as well as a fifth top-flight crown in six seasons.

Guardiola's side finished five points clear of title rivals Arsenal in second, and they notched up a total of 89 points after winning 28 and drawing five of their 38 Premier League matches, while they only lost five games all season – the fewest in the division.

The Catalan boss is also on the cusp of winning a historic treble with Man City, who are preparing for FA Cup and Champions League finals against Manchester United and Inter Milan respectively next month.

Guardiola claims the Manager of the Season award for the fourth time having previously received the accolade in 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2020-21 – all tile-winning campaigns.

The Citizens boss has now moved into second place on the all-time list of winners of the MOTS award, moving one clear of both Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho.

Legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson still leads the way by some distance, though, after he received the award 11 times in total during his successful reign at Man United.

Guardiola fended off competition from Arsenal's Mikel Arteta, Aston Villa's Unai Emery, Brighton & Hove Albion's Roberto De Zerbi, Fulham's Marco Silva and Newcastle United's Eddie Howe to win this season's award.

Guardiola receives the prize after Premier League Golden Boot winner Erling Braut Haaland was named both the Player & Young Player of the Season – becoming the first player in the competition's history to win both awards in the same campaign.

Man City will lock horns with rivals Man United at Wembley Stadium for the FA Cup final on Saturday before travelling to Istanbul for the Champions League showpiece event against Inter a week later.
