Chelsea are reportedly expected to sell Michy Batshuayi this summer as they close in on a deal for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner.

Michy Batshuayi is reportedly expected to be sold by Chelsea this summer as the Blues close in on a deal for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

Liverpool were long considered to be the favourites for Werner, but Frank Lampard's side have seemingly moved into pole position for the Germany international.

The 24-year-old is expected to arrive at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2020-21 campaign, and according to football.london, the deal is likely to seal Batshuayi's exit.

The Belgium international has only scored once in 16 Premier League appearances during the 2019-20 campaign, while he has managed just eight league goals in 48 outings for his current club since arriving from Marseille in July 2016.

Batshuayi has recently enjoyed successful loan spells with both Borussia Dortmund and Crystal Palace, but the striker has been unable to show his best form for his parent side.

West Ham United are allegedly at the head of the queue for a player who could command a £40m fee during this summer's transfer window.
