Barcelona will reportedly put four first-team players up for sale later this week as they bid to boost their financial position.

Barcelona are reportedly keen to offload as many as four first-team players as soon as possible.

Over the weekend, Barcelona ended a four-year wait to win another La Liga title, Xavi also claiming the biggest trophy of his managerial career.

Ideally, the Catalan giants would now press on and strengthen their squad ahead of 2023-24 having been linked with a wide array of players.

Instead, club officials must focus on substantially boosting their financial position having found a way to spend heavily in the 2022 summer transfer window.

That could theoretically be achieved by the sale of one or two high-valuation players, such as the likes of Raphinha and Ansu Fati.

However, both players are keen to remain at Camp Nou, and that will leave Barcelona having to place extra onus on parting ways with more backup members of the squad.

According to Sport, Fati remains on a list of four players who will be told that they are free to leave the club over the coming months.

Previous reports have indicated that Barcelona are ready to cash in for a fee in the region of £70m, although father Bori Fati has publicly stated that the winger will be staying put.

Jordi Alba, Franck Kessie and Ferran Torres are the other three players who will be allowed to depart if Barcelona receive a suitable bid.

Long-serving Alba has made 29 appearances in all competitions this campaign, but the 34-year-old is behind Alejandro Balde in the pecking order and Marcos Alonso offers more value for money as backup.

Kessie has been restricted to just five starts in La Liga this season, a further 20 coming as a substitute, and Barcelona wish to complete the signing of Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan on a free transfer as his replacement.

Meanwhile, Torres has not lived up to expectations since his arrival from Manchester City, with the Spanish giants likely to jump at the chance to recoup anywhere in the region of €40m, even if it means making a loss.

Other players such as Samuel Umtiti and Sergino Dest - on loan at Lecce and AC Milan respectively - are also likely to move elsewhere before the end of August.
