Arsenal 'interested in signing Julian Brandt'

Borussia Dortmund attacker Julian Brandt is reportedly a transfer target for Arsenal.

The 24-year-old has been a regular for BVB during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring once and providing one assist in 22 appearances in all competitions.

Brandt has a contract at Signal Iduna Park until June 2024, meanwhile, having penned a five-year deal upon his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer of 2019.

According to Bild, Arsenal are interested in signing the versatile attacker, with journalist Christian Falk claiming that the Germany international has been "a topic in the dressing room".

Brandt has already played in five separate positions for Dortmund during the 2020-21 campaign, although he has contributed just one assist and zero goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances.

Arsenal are thought to be keen to sign a new playmaker in January amid suggestions that Mesut Ozil could finally leave the club to join Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Mesut Ozil 'considering seeing out contract at Arsenal'

Arsenal attacker Mesut Ozil is reportedly considering remaining at the Emirates Stadium until next June.

The 32-year-old has not played a single minute of first-team football for the Gunners since March and was not included in the club's Premier League squad at the start of the 2020-21 campaign.

Ozil's contract with Mikel Arteta's side is due to run until next summer, although there have been suggestions that he could join Fenerbahce during the January transfer window.

According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Fenerbahce are the favourites to sign him, but the former Germany international could decide to see out the remainder of his contract before leaving on a free transfer.

A recent report claimed that Ozil had held secret talks with the Turkish giants over a potential switch.

The experienced attacker recently revealed that he 'wishes' he had the opportunity to help the Gunners, but a return to the fold under Arteta appears unlikely.
