BritBox announces a host of additions to its lineup for July, including classic soaps Brookside and Crossroads.

Classic soaps including Brookside and Crossroads will join the lineup of BritBox next month, it has been announced.

Brookside was a staple part of the Channel 4 schedules for 21 years, ending in 2003 after airing almost 3,000 episodes, while Crossroads aired on ITV from 1964 to 1988 and 2001 to 2003.

Select episodes - rather than complete archives - of both shows will join BritBox on July 15, alongside episodes of Take The High Road, Casualty and the '70s soap General Hospital.

Other additions in July include Ballykissangel and Monarch of the Glen, as well as classic kids shows Bananaman, Bagpuss and The Famous Five.
