Nick Pickard reveals that Hollyoaks will remain on air until at least 2025.

Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard has revealed that the soap's future is safe until at least 2025.

The Chester-based serial has been part of the Channel 4 schedules since October 1995 but in September it left the main channel and moved to a streaming-first setup, with linear broadcasts continuing on E4.

The move has sparked concern that the soap's days could be numbered, but Pickard has said that he has been told it will continue to the 30th anniversary, which means it will remain on air for at least two more years.

Talking to press before entering I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, Pickard - aka OG Tony Hutchinson - said: "It's all about if the money's still coming in and we've been told that we definitely go on until at least the 30th anniversary so that's as far as I know.

"I'm only contracted year to year anyway, so I've always taken each year as it comes. Like every year there's a few of us in the cast and every time we get a contract we go out and have a little drink and say 'it's another year in the sunshine'."

Hollyoaks continues weekdays on Channel 4 streaming and at 7pm on E4.
